    Gas sending unit gaskets

Has anyone replaced these darn things?
Thought my new tank had a leak and found it to be the sending unit leaking when the tank is full.Small rubber o ring or gasket and i think a nylon insulator.
Reinforced the crappy cork gasket with gasket material for the outer slide ring.
Try to find these small items at a parts store.

My replacement tank came the the same cork gasket, I have not had any leaks so far, Did you get the sending unit locked down all the way.

The original gasket for the sender unit is a rubber o-ring.

I had one leak on me twenty years ago when when I filled the tank to the very top. I though my gas tank had cracked! I found a gas tank in the junk yard that had the same o-ring and used it with success. Most, maybe all, Fords from the late fifties and early sixties used that same gasket.

You might be able to go to NAPA and buy gasket material and make your own
