    Alignment specs ?

Does anyone have alignment specs for '58s with radial tires?

I have the shop manual which shows original specs for bias tires, but have been told that they change if you run radials.

    thanks!

I've been round and round on this, no one's been able to show me any documentation on it. The big birds of the late 60's were some of the first cars to offer radials, and they were optional. You'd think there'd be different alignment specs for the two tire types, but I couldn't find any. I thought that might help shed some light on the subject.

Anyway, the best I could find was that toe should be changed to 0 to 1/16" toe in instead of the original spec of 1/16" to 1/8" toe in. Bias tires need tow in to provide directional stability, with radials that toe in will actually make the car wander.

Thanks, Doug. I will assume that the camber and caster remain as originally specified in the shop manual.

That's my understanding, forgot to mention it in my last post.
