    PRNDL light

Does anyone else experience a flickering of the lamp behind the shift indicator? I made sure the connections I could reach were clean and solid. It only happens when I move from one gear to another and it is more pronounced at the L area. If the path to ground is made via the shift collar, how do you get a good connection on a part that's sliding around on the steering column?

Take the cover off your steering column to expose the lamp. Now is a good time to change it especially if your lamp is original.

This light doesn't draw very much current. Inspect the socket while you're in there. The bulb base is brass but even brass gets tarnished (which adds resistance). You will know more when you get to the bulb. Move things around to find the culprit. - Dave
