    Fender skirt attachment

    Hi

Hope you can help please, I have no reference pics.

On a '62, is there a slot in the top centre of the rear fender lip that the fender skirt clamping lever thingy goes through, or does the lever just clamp up against the inside of the fender lip?

The top secction of the fender lip on my car has been replaced, so I'm not sure of the bodyshop omitted the slot.

I have drilled and fitted new (repro) fender locating pins.

    Thanks!

Allatair on my 60HT the fender skirt clamps hook onto the inside of the well and then are tightened up, once the pins are aligned. Hope this helps.

Thnaks! Sounds like the same set-up as my '62. Looks like I won't have to cut slots into the fender lip.
      Regards

Alistair no you don't want to do that and after awhile, you actually get good at it. Over the years there has been several comments about having skirts or NOT having skirts. Although they look great, they can be a pain taking off and putting back on easily. I just place the J hook on the lip and then slowly turn them into place before tightening. Good luck.
