    Windshield Wipers

My wiper blades will only travel 3/4 of the way and then just stop. When I turn them off they go all the way back. I can hear the air escaping from the motor when turned on and the air at the throttle appears to ok. The 1959 does not have washers. Is the problem the motor or perhaps something less difficult ?

Your wiper motor needs to be rebuilt. Contact http://www.wiperman.com/ .

      Ditto that!!

These guys are very fast, very cheap, and they guarantee their work. Your wiper motor will work super when you get it back and your car will still be original. And it will cost you about $100 less than an electronic conversion.

The only additional thing you should do is to check ALL associated hoses connected to the system for any leaks and replace them. This includes hoses going over to the washer switch to the left of the driver(and even the switch itself, which can leak). If your pump is not getting the vacuum it should then it has no chance of working correctly, no matter how well it is rebuilt. (I think you should see 16-18" of vacuum if you hook a gauge up).
