![]() Ken ~ 'J' Bird Ken, in British Columbia, Canada, sent me the following information and pix on his two 1960 Squarebirds. A red one and a blue-green one. Since he did not have a digital camera at hand, he took these pix and sent them to me. I scanned them into .jpg format. I probably should have done better with the resolution, but I think you will be able to see the pix well enough. Here is what Ken had to say.
"The convert. was, 25 years ago, a lt. yellow (probably Casino Cream, like Rose was). Then redone, and to red. The convert. had black vinyl seats, in the 'leather' seat pattern, till last year. I removed them, for the Green (looks blue to me!) h'tp, WAS red, also, and the upholstery in it, doors, 1/4 panel being of the 'vinyl-motif', not the leather pattern, had seats redone with a patterned cloth, a red-black woven tweed. So I put them into the convert. I then got spray-green-for-vinyl, and dyed the door and quarter panels in the h'top, to match exterior. Meanwhile, a spare set of black leather seats I had from a previously owned, scrapped car, needed new foam, and some 'perimeter leather panels'. So I put them, all redone, into the now-green (blue?) car. If the fabric seats now in the convert. wear thin, I may get leather covers & foam for the black vinyls that came out of the convert. During this year, I will finish the chroming of engine parts as to rockers, coils, hydraulic reservoirs and expansion tanks. However, the h'top does not have 'correct' rockers: Instead of F O R D it has Thunderbird on it. I have a spare set that has nothing on them. If anyone has leftover F O R D rockers, I can give up the two sets I don't require. Ken" Here are the pix Ken sent and I am probably going to have to do these in two or more posts.
