Default '58 Rear Suspension Bushings

Initially, I was planning on completely changing my rear suspension but have since decided to try to stay as close to stock as possible.

Here's the catch: The *only* place I can find a bushing set(all 20 pieces) for the rear end is a place in Mississippi selling a NOS set for $750.00.

I suppose that's ok, but ...

1. I'm a tad afraid of rubber NOS parts (especially in this case) as they could be dry rotted just from sitting on the shelf.

2. I'd really like a set of polyurethene bushings rather then rubber.

And 3. When I get to the front end, I'd like to do the same (polyurethene).

Does anyone know where I might be able to get what I want for my Bird's suspension?

I know one of the t-Bird suppliers has the bushings new at a much cheaper price. I came across it about a week ago. I forget which one though.

Also try Katner Automotive parts on the net.
They carry a wide range of bushings and suspension rebuild kits. I bought a front end kit form them for my '60 Bird and it was perfect...and the price was right.

WOOHOO! Thank you Alex!

The wife won't mind that one anywhere near as much after I initally told her $750.00. She already thinks Cassandra is a money pit. :(

Last time I looked there, I couldn't find anything. Couldn't this time either. Then I checked "New Products." ;)

I see they split them into two pieces -- Definite plus for ease of installation.

Urethane bushings? Cool!

What was the damage (cost)?
