I thought most '58/59/60 parts were interchangeable. Apparently, not the headlight covers. I bought a pair of '60 chromed covers thinking they would fit on my '59. Apparently not. I knew there was no place to screw in the bottom hole on the '60 covers on the '59. I figured I could just put a screw in there with a metal clip on the back to make it a dummy. I found out there is no locking clip on the bottom of the '60 covers. There is no way to clip the bottom in. Instead, you have to screw it in. They did not put that feature on the bottom of the headlight system on the '59's.
I tried to put them on, but the screw holes are different and recessed on the '60 covers. There is no way to lock in the bottom of the covers using the '60 covers on my '59. Does anyone know how to make a set of '60 covers fit on a '59?
It looks like I have a nice set of chromed '60 covers that I can't use. The stock number for the '60 covers is C0SB-13A040B 12159 LH and C0SB-13039B 12158 RH. The stock number for the '59 covers is BAP-16397-A 11509 LH and for the right side I am not sure since I stripped the head of the screw and cannot get it off. The screws for the '59's is different from the '60's. Anyone have a spare '59 cover screw they would like to get rid of? Following the sequence for the '60 set it might be BAP-16396-A 11508 RH. But I am not sure. See information below in For Sale for more information.
