Question Halogen Headlights

I just read a article that states,after market halogen headlights needs a relay because they draw too much juice for the normal headlight switch Sealbeams,and this could burn out the switch. This information was in a new automotive wiring catalog I just got in the back of the catalog there is about 10 pages of good tips and information. Has anyone had trouble with the switch after installing Halogen Sealbeams. Check the book out. www.ronfrancis.com 1-800-292-1940

My High Beams are Halogen and I have had no problems as of yet They are not as bright as they should be, but I believe this is because of the generator set up on these cars.

I asked a similar question in a post awhile back. Several people responded and said that they have halogens with no problems. I believe that Alexander also has Halogens.

I changed all of mine to Halogens, and haven't had a problem at night and running the A/C. That doesn't mean that my wires might not be hotter than they should be -- I don't know.

I wonder if there is somewhere to find the current draw on the Halogen versus the Seal Beam? That would do it.

You should have no problem with stock sealed beam halogens. The problem occurs with the higher wattage halogens with a separate bulb. I have been running halogens since the 1980's. I still have the same light switch since then.

One question, if I may ask.

Does the 58-60 headlight switch have a built in circuit breaker of some kind?

Yes, there is a circuit breaker built in for the headlights.
