Is it just the lighting in those photo's or does the stainless steel bird have the chrome highlights around the rear tail lights?

If I was a betting man Bill I'd say it would be chrome to give it a bit of contrast But then again

I am in agreement with you Chris, I think its chrome as well. Looks way cool, especially if it had a continental kit to keep it company....

I disagree with the "chrome" statement. These Birds were ALL stainless steel (though different gauges). With the exception of items such as bumper brackets, engine mounts, braces, interior, etc.

Ford polished some of these stainless items to make them appear as "chromed"- the bumpers for example.

Itīs a shame all cars have not been build with stainless steel. Imagine how many nice cars it would be out there, and what a nice starting surface to put a layer of candy paint on.

Default The '60 & '67 Stainless Steel Fomoco Cars

Martin ~ OUR5T8BIRD has sent me some information on the two 1960 Squarebirds and the three 1967 Lincoln convertibles. It has been reported in the past that the Lincolns were 1966 years, but these signs you will see put out by ATI Alleghany Ludlum state otherwise. Here are the pix he sent me.
