    Shift detent plate

    Hi everyone,

Please comment on the level of difficulty of doing this repair. Also, while it's being done should anything else be done at the same time? The car occasionally slips out of park.

I have minimal mechanic skills but would like to start trying some of this myself. Thanks in advance.

    Terry,

Before trying the detent plate try replacing the shift lever first. If that doesn't work then do the detent plate. If you follow the instructions in the Technical Resource Library you shouldn't have any trouble.

      Thanks John,

I have another question for you. I need the interior trim that the sun visors screw into. Fred Truax has been a big help, but he wants $350.00 for one and I can't locate one anywhere. Any ideas?

Try the Bird House in Delaware, and Thunderbird Hqs in California. Their contact information is in the Advertisements Forum.
