    Mech. voltage regulars

    hi
first of all let me thank everyone whom has helped me in the past from this forum. this weeks project is about adjusting a mech. voltage regulator. My 1960 conv.has been turning over slow and i think it is due to the voltage setting on the regular, "new battery 12.9". I have already seen 4 generators on this car, "kept getting bad ones from the parts store, bearing lock-up, starter is relatively new. I would like to bump the battery voltage up to about 13.2 , Does anyone know of a site that might show me this. I've been a motor head for over 30 years so i have a clue but would like the definitive how to guide.
    thanks

    RE: Mech. voltage regulars

The shop manual for the 1958 - 1960 Thunderbirds gives a detailed procedure for adjusting the voltage regulator. If you need, I can post the procedure here.

You want to avoid setting the voltage too high, because the water in the battery will tend to evaporate.
