    Do yours work?

How many have clocks that work?

    And . . . todays $5000 question has anyone's windshield
    washer system ever worked?

Oh yeah . . . the bonus question.
How many 58-60 TB's go into D1 the 1st time?

These have (always) been problems with mine.

I think old time Ford techs have the same two answers as old Harley
    techs;

    "Those never work"

    or

    "They all do that"

The electric aftermarket wipers work like a champ! Those Trico vacuum units never worked in ANY car, especially when taking off from a light or climbing hills.

Spend the $200, and switch over to electric. It's totally hidden for a great mod. - Dave

My clock on Rose works... After I had it quartzed. I do not have the washer system on Rose. As for D1, Rose will go into it.

I've got an original clock that still works.

        I guess I got lucky.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking - (except when the power goes out - it has a 12v wall transformer) - and - the one in my car works as long as the battery is not disconnected.

The windshield washer system used to work - when it was new (but Venus and Jupiter had to be aligned) - does that qualify for the $5000?

D1 - I was at about 50% of the time but replaced my detent and now it is about 20% (at least it was until the rear main blew - now it's in P 100% of the time). I needed to adjust it.

Windshield washer works although vacuum tube to the switch often needs to be repaired due to splitting at the switch. D1 doesn't work - too much play in the linkage. Clock works but converted to electronic.

Original clock still works (I repaired it, one connection was broken inside). Original Wipers works fine too but not the washer. D1 doesn't work and I'm happy to know it is not only a my problem.

Clock works after I took it apart and sprayed it with WD-40! I know I'm going to get raked over the coals for this because WD-40 is a water disperser and not a lubricant Some have taken theirs apart and applied sewing machine oil. I undo battery after every run and when I reconnect it clock starts right up
Wipers work great as long as you are accelerating, but not worth a crap coasting or going up a hill.
                  D-1, nope!

Good info on the clock. I didn't even consider attempting to repair mine until I read that others have done so. The Shade Tree Mechanic's Creed applies here:

                    1. If it doesn't move and is supposed to, apply WD-40.
                    2. If it moves but isn't supposed too, apply duct tape.

Steve, don't use WD-40 on your clock.. Go to the Technical Resource Library (TRL) and you will find the information on repairing your clock. The link to the TRL is always part of my signature element.

Spend the money and get the electric wipers like I and others have! You will love it and you won't want to go back. You can even get the washer mod for it and have windshield washers... See the TRL!

D1 works well. Vacuum wipers works except when driving hills upwards (a conversion to electrical is on my list for future projects). Clock used to work but have stopped lately, I think it's only bad contact in the switch in the winding mechanism. Windshield washers have been removed by a previous owner. I've purchased a 61 Thunderbird electric one and plan to convert the old vacuum switch to an electric.

My washers are already electric Biggest problem while driving in rain is that the wipers stops and turn back just between my eyes due to the panoramic window
