    17" wheels and tires (or16s)

Anybody running 17s on their '64-'66?
    What width works best?
    Backspace/offset?
Any problems with interference of the rear skirts?

    What about tire sizes?
It appears that a 235/50-17 and 245/50-17 split the difference of the height of the "std." 195/75-15, but are they too wide to fit?

...or the same questions/info for 16s?

Since you asked.... Here is what a set of 17" Mustang Bullits look like mounted on a 65. The setup you see is a set of 245x45x17 up front with 275x40x17(I think might be 35?) in the rear.

    Couple of notes:

    a. I didn't drive it around to see if it cleared when pushed hard, but it appeared it would work fine. (I borrowed the wheels from my 58 Bird and only did the one side, in one pic you can see bigbird)

    b. The car has been lowered 2" in the rear and at least 2" to 2.5" in the front.

    c. I didn't remove the spacer in front that I am running for the 15x7 wheels that normally are on the car. But I am pretty sure the Bullits would clear without the spacers, the rear no spacers at all, clearance was fine.

    Her standard setup

Yep, I agree - can't be beat for classic good looks.
