And boy is it tight under the hood now!! Here are some pictures I promised Bart of a 1964 Ford Fairlane 352cid with A/C metal fan shroud I picked up a few weeks ago.
The measurements of this shroud were EXACTLY like the ones given off the other metal fan shroud over in the tech section. So in short, a 1960-64 big V-8 Fairlane, Galaxie, or Monteray fan shroud will fit. I chose to drill the 2 spot welds out on each side of the lower shroud mounting tabs & rivet them back onto the shroud from under the car. By doing this, I only had to remove my O.E. fan blade a spacer. Then I was able to slide the lower 1/2 of the new metal shroud down into the engine compartment. I used the same 2 radiator mounting bolts which bolt through our lower front crossmember instead of drilling & tapping new holes as suggested in the tech article.
A side view, here you can just barely see the O.E. fan blade sticking out. It is just above the aluminum fan blade spacer & pointing to the fan belt in this shot.
This mod looks great, just like the factory shroud would have appeared. It really cleans up the engine compartment IMO.
