removing the core

I own a 62 t-bird.Removing the fan shield appears to quit easy. The cooling lines not to difficult and the hoses our easy. The difficulty is what secures the bottom of the core itself . I feel something like a bolt on each side. Do I need to get under th core and unlossen the two bolts from underneath do these bolts could possibly screw into what.By unlossing these bolts will this let me pull the core ou itself. Larry
