Chrome emblems on rear fender (1960)

I am negotiating for a 1960 squarebird right now that is missing the three chrome emblems on each of the rear side fenders. None of the major catalogs lit this part as available. Are thay hard to come by? Are they pot metal (I assume they are) and can they be re-chromed for a reaonable price if all I can get is used at salvage yard?

I love the car and want it bad!

Those hash mark emblems are not hard to come by. Just be aware that there were two types of these emblems produced during the 1960 run. These hash marks may look all identical but each set is made with several different curvatures to fit the fender.

Pat Wilson and Bob's Bird House have these hash marks. In fact, Pat Wilson had a box of used parts at his vendor table at Atlantic City two weeks ago. He was selling the 1960 hash marks for $2 each.

You can find the websites of these vendors on our main site under "links."
