    1962 parcel shelf

    Hi there,

Has anyone removed the rear parcel tray/shelf (the panel that the speaker sits in between the rear seat back and rear window) from a '62 hardtop?

I followed the workshop manual exploded view and I believe I got all the small screws undone. The front of the tray lifts up but it won't come out, it feels like it might be trapped under the rear window rubber? is this possible?

I thought I'd ask the forum for advice before trying to yank it out and damaging something.

    Thanks!

    Regards

    Alistair

    Package Tray

The rear of the tray wedges between the rubber and the body. You will have to work it loose. All the trim around it (window trim, aluminum "washboards") should come out as well.

Awesome, thanks very much Alan, I've already removed all the trim so I'll give it a bit of 'gentle persuasion' tonight.
