I remember numbering mine 1-9 when this one was painted. They appear to change contour.

I did the same thing when I took mine off. I was really glad I did that. They do change contour, and some of the holes are wider apart towards the rear.

The locations differ which would explain the different contours. The early screw type were located further back. Look at the locations on Sal's car relative to the rear bumper compared to Mike's HT. Mike's HT emblems start at the edge of the bumper side return and go forward, Sal's start over top of the bumper side return.
