    chrome belt moulding

Can anyone tell me if the belt moulding between the quarter window and rear window are the same dimensions for the 59-60 t-birds? Thanks.

Ken I am not sure I understand " belt moulding " between the quarter and rear window.Try asking your question another way, as most of the window parts ( rubber moulding ) are interchangeable for 59 / 60 Also, do you have P/W or manual on your bird

Maybe "430bird60" is reffering to the exterior B-pillar or A.K.A. sail-panel lower molding?

If so, the 1958 & 1959 are the same. The 1960 is different & there are 2 different '60 designs too.

          chrome belt moulding

Sorry. I didn't explain very well. The chrome I am referring to is on the exterior of the car at the bottom of the roof and between the rear quarter window and the rear window. It wraps around the back of the roof. I was told that there is a difference in size between the 60 and 59. The ones on my 60 have grooves. Hope this helps. Thanks. Ken

As Jon stated, 58-59 match, the 60 had two styles, both differ form the 58-59. The 60 sail panel trim is not as tall as the 58-59 trim, likewise the wrap-around molding (to the rear window) differs in dimension.

"430tbird60" AKA "Ken", so now it all depends if your 1960 Bird is an early or late production car. If it is an early made car then your chrome mldg should be all smooth without any ribs, if it is a later production then it would have some ribs "cast" into it. Either way, a set off a 1958-59 T-Bird would be taller and incorrect.

Another way to identify an early '60 Bird from the late '60 Birds is looking at the rear 1/4 panel vertical chevrons.

The early Birds had screws holding/securing them to the rear 1/4 panels, while the later Birds used studs & were held on by barrel nuts- located on the inside trunk panel.

This design change was very close to the same time Ford changed that lower ext. chrome B-pillar mldg you asked about.

My 60 must from the day they changed. I have the smooth sail panels and studs on the quarter trim. I think it was built in nov. or dec. 1959. I'll have to look that up. Mabye we can pinpoint when this happend?
