    Original dealership of purchase?

A shot in the dark here. Is there anyway by VIN, Data plate, ect to determine the dealership where my 60 Bird was shipped to from the factory.

If anyone would know the answer to that, it would be John Rotella at the TBird Registry...

my guess is that you need the gate sheet(s) that are advertised as being available for some years , but not the squarebirds or the original sales slip.

The VIN, ROT and such seem to only be a description of the actual features of the car.

I would love to know where my car was sold, went, and lived. I am in Vermont and if my car is a local car it did not see much winter driving. It's not in great shape, but workable. A daily driver in this area would have been rusted out long ago.

Would love to do a "geanology" of my car, but have never figured out where to start.

Reportly, the original copy of the invoices for the 1958-60 Thunderbirds were destroyed decades ago. Only certain invoices for '62-'63 Roadsters and the like were saved.

No one knew that Squarebirds would someday become collector's items.

Unfortunately without the window sticker there is no way to know where it was originally sold. You might get lucky and find the build/ROT sheet in several possible locations, but again Ford did not start using DSO designations until long after the 60 production. Window stickers did not start until 1959 production.

This is bad news but remember you have a small piece of history still in operation on the highways. Neat stuff!!

Fortunatley in my case it was my grandmas car and I know the dealership where it was purchased. Still exists but different owners.
