Sandyboy thanks for the link, as it was quite remarkable and a great light show. Even better than Chevy Chase's " Christmas Vacation " movie. I too, would like to extend my best wishes for the upcoming holiday to our many friends around the world. To you and yours from me and mine, all the very best over the holiday season and the New Year. Let's make 2010 a good year and the highest membership ever.May there be Thunderbird related gifts a plenty for all.
I will be off our site from 12.22.09 and will return 01.02.10.

Merry Christmas to all. I pray that everyone may be with their loved ones to celebrate these very happy and holy holidays.

My heart goes out to those who cannot be home: Our troops who willingly sacrificed their holidays so we may enjoy ours; the poor soldier who misses his Chevy & family, and particularly our lonely snipers. God Bless them all, and God Bless all the dedicated members here at Squarebirds.

Every time we spread the spirit of the holidays by helping one another, Alexander smiles with us.

In retrospect, these blessings kinda take the edge off because in a few minutes I will go outside and shovel four inches of Detroit snow. - Dave

Dave it's good to see someone else getting the white stuff called snow, this time of the year. It must be a " northern thing " and I just got back from seeing the birds, to make sure they were hibernating well.

                          Greetings of the Season

While Dave was telling you of the "Magic of Mom's", I was involved in a bit of "Magic of Grandpa's" the last few days (Good job, Dave!)

Because of several factors this year, that I won't get into, my family will not be together for Christmas this year, as we always are. So Grandpa (me) hooked up the ole sleigh and reindeer (2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport with HiTop conversion package) and made off to Clovis, New Mexico, carrying the presents for my oldest son and his family. I left for Clovis early Tuesday morning and arrived back here, through the snow, with the sleigh and reindeer in tact, awhile ago this evening, with the presents for the family here. They will be dispersed tomorrow.

In doing so, I got to experience something that I have not experienced in quite a few years. Driving in 3 inches of snow and ice! It snowed over much of eastern New Mexico and northwest Texas last night. It took me an extra couple of hours driving for about 150 miles through blowing snow and iced over highways. Driving was down to nearly a standstill at times, as constantly blowing winds blew snow across the road in front of me with visibilities at times down to a few feet ahead of me.

Luckily, it cleared up around Big Springs, and the roads cleared, allowing me to make good time on the rest of the trip back. I left a chilled 14 degrees in Clovis, and returned to a balmy 41 in San Antonio. But mission accomplished! The short trip also gave me a chance to see my new great granddaughter again and spend some time with her and my family there. I also got to see my son and daughter-in-laws new home they are building and will move into in a few more weeks. Nice place!

Thanks to simplyconnected, who held down the fort for me while I was making an 8 hour drive one way and about a 10 drive back! While I was there, I caught up with things on the Forum.

Merry Christmas everyone and a very Happy New Year.
