Working on the gaps. Not really much to show. Tedious work.

Working on a new firewall. Made a few different ones. This one didn't make the cut.Comment

Came up with another design. But before it was tried had to make sure the brake booster would work with the new design.
I didn't have a lot of hair when I started this build. As you can tell there ain't much left to scratch.Comment

Before I made another firewall I cut up the other one and used it for templates.Comment

Keith, I'm looking at your work with awe. It looks amazing, but I have a concern...
The reason Ford's firewall bracket raised the booster 5" (and out 5") was two-fold:
- The steering column shift lever cleared the manual M/C but a booster interfered.
- The ratio for the brake pedal changed. With the power brake firewall bracket, the pedal rod connected to the center of a 'pivot link' which gives a 2:1 ratio (or there about). A direct pedal rod attachment might not give enough stroke unless you drill another hole in the brake pedal, much lower than the original hole.
Your setup looks fantastic but I'm concerned about how well the brakes will operate. There is always the option of using a 1-1/8" bore M/C if you can't get enough stroke from the pedal. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution

Thanks for the tips. I have clearance on the shift linkage. I put a booster on a 65 mustang the same way I have done the T-Bird. I didn't notice there being any problems braking. I could be wrong. I swapped the drum brakes out for disc and from a fruit jar master cylinder to a booster with a dual master cylinder. It would nose dive and the speakers resting on the rear parcel shelf would hit you in the back of the head. Had to secure those down.Comment

So I took the pieces from the first firewall and made a leftside to see how it looked. It didn't look right either.Comment
-
So I made another firewall. Tried something way different and it started looking better, but not quite there.Comment

I agree! But 5 Stars is the highest rating we can give! Keith does fantastic work! I have been following his work for years on here as so many others have... At the very least, I can add a Big Thumbs Up!
