    hi my carby floods when i go up hill or around corners. i have a carby rebuild kit with floats on the way.i have a 1958 shop manual and in the photo page 1-69 fig22 accelerating pump operating rod installation is in position 1 on my carby it is in position 4 i have all original 1960 352 cruise o matic.should i change it to position 1 or leave as is when i do the rebuild?

    The normal position varies on your climate. In warmer weather you want it in position 1 or 2. In colder weather position 3 or 4. The 1960 shop manual shows the summer position as 2 (second from the bottom) with the rod in the outside hole of the accelerator pump lever. That's where I would put it in your case.
