    Power steering pressure hose

My high pressure power steering hose sprung a leak today thank goodness it was in the garage and I was not driving the car or I would have had tranny oil all over the engine compartment. Where can I find a new hose or do most people have new hoses installed on the old ends? that is also available to me locally.

Go to the Birdsnest website or directly to the pressure steering hose link at http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5BABID~Z5Z5Z51

and find the hose for $39.95

I now find myself looking for hoses?

I want to replace the 2 hoses coming from the ram cylinder as they are leaking. Are there 2 different hoses? Do you order 2 of the same. I see different hoses in some catalogs and the Birds Nest catalog says 2 req. (pn# 3A714C ) will that work? are both hoses under pressure? it looks like the current hoses have different bends in them on the ends before the fittings.

      Thank You, Eric

Mine has hard lines from the control valve to the ram. I replaced them a couple of years ago, but don't recall where I got them.

They were supposedly bent to the proper shape, but there was no way to install them without bending them and bending them back. Worked out well in the end, however.

Make sure you order the correct hoses going to the ram cylinder. 1960 hoses are metal and have different size ends than 1958 and 59 which are rubber and metal.

As far as the high pressure hose I've been using a hose that fits a '57 T-Bird. It's readily available at most local auto parts stores and is about half the price of the 58-60 hose. The only difference is that it has a female end on the control valve side but it comes with the adapter. It's about an inch longer but seems to fit fine.

            It currently has rubber hoses

I was told the metal hoses would crack due to there being some flexing going on between the 2 ends and this being an old car and suspension and steering parts not as tight as thewere originaly.

If you can find rubber hoses that fit a '60 that would be the best option. Most of the vendors I've checked only have the metal ones.
