    Needle in a haystack

Hi everyone! I'm trying to find the thread that has pictures of one of our birders' rear ends. No, not that! The third member was so finely detailed in red and possibly the pinion support was silver. I have my axle out for an upgrade and I want to take the opportunity to pretty it up. If anyone remembers I would appreciate the info. Thanks.

Here are some pics from the results of a bad bearing. The inside cleaned up nicely and new bearings corrected the problems.

The correct original color for the carrier and pinion support is red oxide but I saw this on a car show and thought it would look great with the black axle housing. I used Eastwood 2K High-Temp Ceramic paint (that is my differential in the pics Dave posted).

Here is a pic from a thread in Anything Goes...probably closer to original.

Oh and has anyone heard of copper washers that go below the nuts that hold the third member to the housing? I no longer have mine. Two different shops have had their hands on it so I'll never know if I even had them originally.

I bought new copper washers. I found them in a tube shop, so I didnīt even have to buy from US. Mine had from original. There is even a copper flag showing the gear ratio.
