Test fitting the new OEM style wheels to the disc brakes.
Wheels and brakes from Prestige Thunderbird.
Prestige Thunderbird, has worked out very well for me during this build, but as always will take it to the next level.
Going to paint the wheels Fiesta Red to set the white walls off.

No real wire wheels on this car it's a City traffic driver.
Charley, that is really pretty! Rather than cover that up with full wheel covers, since you have the nubs on the rims, I would think that some snazzy looking Ford dog dish hubcaps like mine would really set that color off! BTW, did you ever get your top problem fixed? I hope Lance was able to help you.
YellowRose, going to run the Ford caps with white inserts with the wire baskets outers. On our 58 we have the real wires, but the roads in Oklahoma seem to be a heaven for nails and at least 2 or 3 times a year the 58 ends up with a flat tire and that's such a pain to get fixed on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon.
Still waiting to talk to Lance, but I'm starting to feel better.

Here's the wheels mounted on the tires.
New lugs nuts all around.
Kind of gives the Bird, the "High Horse" look.
Hope you like the cap, YellowRose.

Charley, they look great, I think! IF you want to "dress down" the bright red color any, you might consider doing what I did. Add beauty rings... That way, you get just a hint of the color and not the full effect. I turned the white lettering inside after getting comments about that. Here are some pix of what I did.
The bold look of the red makes me think of the sixties when my sisters boyfriends would paint their wheels different colors almost every other week to impress the girls. HA!
We also have a set of wires.
Charley
PS. I want to cruise with out the wires, but I'll get over ruled.
Here's Don he can't wait to install the wires.
I gather those are the wire wheel covers that you can pop on and off. Bcomo had them on his '60 Tbird before he sold it. When his got dirty, he would wait til his wife was gone, pop them off, put them in the dishwasher and wash them! Then pop them back on when they were clean. These look nice, but they completely cover up the red rims! I guess it is whatever turns you on... Me, I think I would pop chrome beauty rings with the dog dishes in place on those wheels and call it done! But to each his own!
We are talking about a real set of wires for local shows, but really we are going to drive this car a lot, that's what it's built for.
I'd like to get a set of red walls with chrome wheels and baby moon hubcaps or remember those bullet rockets that covered the dust caps and chrome acorn lug nuts for a sixty's custom look.
