Dashboard Removal 1970 Galaxie 500

Hi All,
I'm needing some expert help on removing the dash in my 70 Galaxie. The right hand side of the steering column bottom plastic valance is not breaking loose for me. I would like any help or advice, I don't want to break this piece can save it. I already have the radio, speedo, and the front plastic piece with the wood grain, and the left bottom plastic valance removed. The left hand piece to the left of the steering column is removed also.

your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the diagram and since I posted I had figured out what i was doing wrong. the part I was having trouble with was the right hand lower vallance part #044070.
