It makes many errors in his description, as you probably are aware. 1960 was not the only Squarebird with leaf springs. The hydro-electric mechanism was used on all Squarebirds, not just in 1960. Late in the 1959 model year it became fully automatic. There was no powered outside mirror available in 1960. The only way to get a remotely adjustable mirror was by ordering a spotlight. If it does have a power outside mirror it is not original.

$3,500,000 is a tad high asking price for a Squarebird.

I might consider selling one of mine for $2,000,000.

        ok, ok!
I'll drop my price down to half million but not a penny less!

I concede that I do not have the "power outside mirror" and I realize that hurts my asking price so I'm willing to take a little less for the 'ol gal.

That's as low as I can go though!
I have that much "pain and suffering" in her regardless!

The seller may have made the same false assumption I made on my Bird when I first sat in it. The power windshield washer switch on the left door frame looks like a modern car's power mirror switch. I kept wondering why the mirror didn't move when I toggled the switch. My car doesn't have washer nozzles or a washer bag so I can be forgiven for my ignorance. For those big bucks I would insist on real power mirrors on BOTH sides.

I think you are right. I never thought of that possibility.

I did not know what that switch was for when I first got my '59.

I know I'm a little late on this but, I think this car was FOR SALE at Hershey about 3 years ago. It's from the Pittsburg area and a guy I know, knows the owner and guess what, it was a hardtop! The owner took a rusty convert and a good hartop and made the car with a convertible serial number stamped on it. The car is nice, but I would question the legality of the car. Maybe that's why it doesn't sell. Also, the owner does not disclose this information to possible buyers. Let the buyer beware!!!!!

That's why we t-bird owners need to communicate with each other. Thanks for the tip Tom.

My '59 doesn't even have one of these switches...another option oddly not ordered on this car.
