power sterering pump

replacing my power steering pump after it puked fluid all over the garage this weekend.
Is there a special tool needed to remove the reservoir?
and any special tool needed to remove the pulley??

The reservoir and pulley should come right off after they're unbolted. No special tools needed. Just make sure the o-rings are in before you put the reservoir on. And don't lose the key for the shaft.

Ok on the pulley, I did use the impact to take the bolt off but it did still seem pretty tight. almost like you may need a puller

and is the reservoir held on by the large nut???

I've never had to use a puller to get the pulley off. Usually a couple whacks with a rubber mallet does the trick. You are correct on the reservoir. The large nut/bolt holds it on.

Mine also leaks & the mechanic quoted me $200 AU $140 US for labor to replace the seals. Is it a fair price?

The kit costs about $12.00 USD. It usually takes about an hour to do it so you figure it out.

Replaced my PS pulley with a different one when adding A/C.

X2 with John on starting with the a RUBBER mallet. I had to resort to a wood block and hammer mine was so tight - was worried the whole time I was going to break that cast iron pulley but it finally came off.
