Carpet Installation Debate; Help Needed :)

Please help me with a debate I am having with a friend. We are working on putting the interior in the car and we can not decide if the carpet for the floor is supposed to be attached at all in addition to where bolts or screws go through it. Is it supposed to be glued down or is it free floating. Thank you for your help in ending this debate. Dan

From the assembly manual, it shows that the vertical components are glued on with cement. The inserts that lie flat on the floor are screwed on.

Alexander, I am having trouble finding that in the red 60 manual. Do you mind letting me know which section it is in so I can look it up. I do not need a copy I just can't seem to locate it. Thanks, Dan

It is page 16 of the 1960 Thunderbird Body Trim Interior Trim and Sealant Assembly Manual.

Mine has a brown-gray cover.

Dan, I lost your e-mail. Since you are putting carpet in does this mean your almost done? I have almost 500 miles on mine. Perhaps we can meet at the Woodward cruse??
