    Any Mercury fans out there?

I picked this up recently and I'm thinking it is a radio delete cover, but not certain. Can anyone tell me if it is a delete cover and what era? Looks early (1940's?) to me, but I haven't been able to find a similar logo to compare. Any help most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Mercury Emblem

Hi Del, I found where it goes but don't know the year. It's part of the Glove box. Look up...1940s mercury trucks dashboard.

      Found One!

      Hi Chris -
I didn't find any trucks but found this pic of 1947 Merc coupe with the same bit on the glove box. Thanks!

Hi Del, good to see that you found one as well. After cross referencing, I decided to try the 40s Mercury trucks dashboard & that's where I saw it. I couldn't tell if it was a light truck or a passenger vehicle, as it only showed the dash. The year wasn't mentioned either.

          Hi Chris
Just curious - - what search engine are you using? When I search for 40s Mercury trucks dashboard using google I'm not seeing any trucks with that thingy on the glove box. Could you post a link or pic? Thx!

Those two brackets on the back seem quite big to have it mount to the glove box door . The mid to late Mercury pick-ups had similar scripts mounted to the sides of the hood wing doors as well . One on each side where there appears to be a cut out in the hood wings . Just my observation .

Hi Martin, that was my exact thought, that it was from the side of the hood, because of the solid brackets. That's why I looked up for mercury trucks. Maybe the ones for the glove box were possibly the same size & look, but with a different bolt on set-up.

Yes I agree looks like this bit belongs on the hood wings.
