My blower, with AC, is pretty noisy! Common? Works well, but I have no radio to drown it out ! Been considering replacing it, but you say it's hard to find one?

My blower is not noisy (430 with A/C) on low or high.

The squirrel cage may be rubbing against the inside of A/C shroud. I think that you can pull the motor and cage easily. Then you can check the cage for rubbing marks, and also run the motor to see if it's the motor itself. Just a thought.

              blower noise and 2 speed

My blower motor also is noisey, but that is just the bearing/bushing and can be repaired by an electric motor shop which I will have done soon.
As far as the different speeds, I understand that on the 2 wire motors, you just send different voltage to the motor for the different speeds. Check the voltage output on the wires going from the chassis to the motor and see if one is less voltage. That will be low speed. That is the beauty of DC motors. both the 6 volt supply and the 12 volt supply go to the same wire on the motor and it is good.
