    Bill Pugnetti's '60 Squarebird

I am sitting here admiring Bill Pugnetti's '60 Squarebird, Thunderbird Of The Month Of May, 2012 in the Squarebirds Calendar. I love that color! Here is a picture from the calendar of it.

Think its been better part of a year that I been inactive on Squarebird forum. Was doing house, yard, travel, model building, hamster, mother inlaw care stuff. Anyway - is Spring and car time too. Boils down to being late and not receiving first ever Squarebird calendar until today.

WOW - Between pictures on forum and in calendar, must say I appreciate everyones efforts at Thunderbird preservation and modification. So fortunate to have lived in 50s & 60s when cars of character were made (likely never again). Had to have been there to grasp significance of their place in culture/society. To me, each model of each car type was an individual personality on same stage with jet age, space age, entertainment, music, economics, etc.... characters of the era.

What thrill and honor to see my Tbird on a calendar with other Thunderbirds.
    Bill

      Bill Pugnetti's '60 Squarebird

In addition to Bill Pugnetti's beautiful '60 Squarebird, here is what else he is working on in his shop. There is nothing like having a half dozen different projects going on at the same time! Here is a video clip he sent me. http://www.squarebirds.org/SB/PhotoStory4.wmv

Tbird was lucky to be picked as a background car in a commercial for Autokraft. Filming is done and it is now in editing phase. They shared one frame of commercial with me.
        It is attached.

          Bill Pugnetti's '60 Squarebird

Congratulations, Bill! It is to bad that big post is in the way, and that they did not show more of the car. But perhaps they do in other frames.

At swap meet found a FoMoCo early 1960s FE aluminum intake. Has oil filler tube. Only one I ever seen, believe they are rare. Weighed in ~50 pounds lighter than original intake. Had it clear coated for easier cleaning. Recently installed it and rebuilt carb. Obviously runs stronger. Headers with 2.5" exhaust helped when installed a few years ago. Intake & carb increased performance another notch. Is plenty now because I just cruise. Is not a muscle car. Other recent improvements are front disc brakes and HD front sway bar.

Hi Bill! Great shots of the engine bay! BTW, did you ever get to see the commercial video done by Autocraft back in 2014? If you have a link or copy of it I would love to see it and see if we can post it for all to enjoy!

Did see it back when..... Owner retired and video went with him.

The shop did replace Tbird backup lights with a third tail light on each side. I went on to illuminating inside of exhaust tips. Took some trial and error. Is debugged and works fine now. Placed 59 roof pillar emblem on top of exhaust tips. They fit perfect.
                see pictures.

Thank you. Does show well beginning at dusk. An 'idea' I got and started looking at parts and fiddling with configuration. Version 1 sorta worked, is currently version 2. Am liking triple tail lights which could take to next step making them sequential. Never done, are more things to do. Also have other cars to tend to.
