Can you make a 390 look like a stock 352? I can't swing a new motor just yet and the motor runs good but I want to keep the car as close to stock as I can.

The blocks are nearly identical. All FE blocks in fact are stamped "352" on the block no matter the size. Some later 390 engines have an extramounting boss for the alternator but that is the only obvious visible difference. If you uese the intake and exhaust manifold plus the acccessories from the 352 engine such as the generator, power steering pump and A/C compressor, no will notice the engine swap if you paint it the correct colors.

RE: 390 to a 352?
I have a 390 in my '58. The air cleaner, expansion tank and valve covers are what I've noticed are different. The 390 has a "ribbed" expansion tank and the 352 appears "smooth". The valve covers on the 390 say "THUNDERBIRD" and on the 352 say "FORD". I think I'm going to leave my valve covers along just because I like "THUNDERBIRD" better, but that's just me.
