    PAINT CHOICES

    HI
does anyone know of a place on the web where i can visually see all the colors available for the 1960 thunderbirds. I have been to all the common squarebird sites, Resetry, milepost, ebay, club sites etc. i have seen thunderbirds on the net in gold , red, black, light blue, medium blue, pink, yellow, maroon, the greens, and currently the car is aquamarine. i have seen a pie chart on ebay with the colors but it was too small and not a good pic. i know about the linclon colors as they are listed but have not actually seen any pics of the colors. I want to paint the car for protective reasons in somewhat of a cheap fashion for now and thought a change would be nice. Black with beige interior and conv top is where i am at so far in the desicion making process but since i am going to spend all of $400 on paint,"money tree got too much rain" to do this i just wanted to be sure. Were any of the earlier squarebird colors used on the 1960? I wanted to stick to an original color for the most part as they match the interiors. The interior will come next year.
    thanks,
    mark

      Here you are:-

Okay, it will not print. Right Click on the red X and copy to your address bar up top !

Also the nane "Surf Foam Blue" was later changed to "Skymist Blue" ~
Same color, same code ~ different name.

        Sandy,

Is that a Monte Carlo Red "X" on a Corinthian White background?

            RE: PAINT CHOICES

Paste the following in your browser window address box:

            autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/searchpic.pl?1960-ford-pg01.jpg

Then add floowing in front of the address:

            http://

You should now be able to see the chips for the 1960 colors.

                  RE: PAINT CHOICES

As some of you know, I grew up in the 1950s/1960s. During this time-frame pink cars in America were very much the norm. If a pink car went by, unlike today, nobody really looked. It was as common place as a silver car is today. Looking over my various Thunderbird color (colour for you Canadian friends) ~ I am amazed at the large number of various shades of "pink" Ford offered on the T-Birds from 1957 through 1967, a decade, plus one.

                  Here's a listing:
                  1956: Sunset Coral; Code Y
1957: Dusk Rose; Code X - Coral Sand; Code Z
                  1958: Cameo Rose; Code W
                  1959: Flamingo; Code 83
1960: Palm Springs Rose; Code V - Springdale Rose; Code U
1961: Palm Springs Rose; Code V
                  1962: Sahara Rose; Code L
1963: Sahara Rose; Code L - Rose Beige; Code W
1967: Dusk Rose; Code S - (Special Order) Playboy Pink
Then it was over, for 10 years....
                  1977: Rose; Code 2Y
Then it was over for good, as pinks, roses and coral/pinks fell way out of favor.

today, it's only used on Mary Kay Pink Cadillacs.

In 1986 I ordered a 1986 Lincoln Mark 7 in the above 1959 "Flamingo" with maroon interior. The car was a knockout and always drewe lots of positive attention at car shows. I sold it to a older man from Florida who also had a 1956 Crown Vicky in pink, that his wife drove. He had it for several years and a year ago sold it to someone in Mass. - 'yup, another guy! 1 Pink Mark & 3 male owners !! I have now lost track of her.
Alexander has access to a photo, perhaps he'd like to paste it here, as I have no scanner.

I had no way of knowing if you did in fact receive them. Everytime I sent, I got an e-mail message a moment or two later telling me it was undeliverable to the reciepent, so I thought you changed your e-mail address, and kept choosing another one. First I did markviii@prodigy.net and then 59tbird@prodigy.net. Even the final one, I did, (59t-bird) came back as a no go. Finally after 6 attemps, I came here, only to find the photos allready "up" ~ I don't get that message on anyone else, but you. Your computer must be set on automatic to reject anything from me!:+

I never had an e-mail address of markviii@prodigy.net. That's why it kept on bouncing back.
