Here some pics of my brake boosters, have to choose which one I will open and overhaul. Maybe I will look for a dual master, what duel master will be good?

a pic of my air cleaner, its not an original one, probably from a galaxie maybe. Good not find an original one yet, in the mean time I will order one of those Holley or ford racing chrome ones maybe.
If I would find one, than I will probably have it chromed.

hobby and he currently has over 300 cars (yep, that many) that he parts out, it is only a 25 minute drive for me so i am super lucky.
i have gotten many parts for my 64 and already made the trip for some stuff for my newly aquired 60. he is a great option for many hard to find original parts for our birds and will ship within the united states. nice guy, i will post some pics of his operation when i can figure out how to do so! it's pretty cool.

Air cleaner is from a '64 T-bird with the drooping snorkel. The original booster for your car is the shallower one with the metal flange that's screwed together. This is the one used mid-late '59-early '61 T-birds from Bendix. The other one is mid-'60s vintage. I'd recommend rebuilding the original booster in order to retain original components: you may have to ship it to the US to a place that specializes in repair, such as "Booster Dewey" in Portland, Oregon, if you can't find someone in northern Europe to rebuild it.

Thank you Alan for your information and advice, very much appreciate it.
The previous owner was on the right track then. He first searched for an original engine and made sure the numbers matched and got an original brake booster too. Even he did get a new single stage master cylinder also, was still in its blue plastic bag. Only thing missing is an original bracket with a 5 point connection to the firewall. On the firewall there is the standard 4 +1 bolt in the middle top. Could be that the car was first equipped without brake-booster and he wanted to install one, I am not sure.
I will try to keep the car as original as possible unless a safety issue has to make me modernize some things.
I will first make the car ready and drive it (with the orig. brake booster) then if needed to make a conversion to disc brakes at a later stage, I would need the dual mc with prop. valve also.
But the traffic is very light here in northern Finland, the only emergency stop would be for reindeer's.
Some people by the way do hit a reindeer by accident and their modern cars are very often heavily damaged or totaled. Would not have to worry about that with the Tbird with the big thick heavy bumper, still would like to try to avoid though....
I will search for for an original air-cleaner.

There is a radio amplifier in one of those photos. Take good care of it until you can determine if it works.The radios are common but working amps are much scarcer (and not repairable due to lack of power transistors)

yes I was told by the previous owner it still might work, I will have it checked here by a local radio repair shop. In case I might still find some of those power transistors here. I just put the amp out for the pictures. I do not have a working original radio though, just a front with a light in it. The previous owner put a modern radio/cassette in where the map lamp supposed to be. I removed the modern radio and might temp.use it and put it in the glove compartment without needing any cutting so I can put a map lamp back in the rightfully place. In the near future might look for an original working radio, maybe modified for FM not sure yet. I will hold on to the amp and check if it works. If a orig. but modified to FM radio might not need the amp I might sell it or give it to someone in need.

Original radios are pretty easy to come by; amps are harder (in part, not many people realized they were a separate unit and hidden under the dash). The radios are pretty cheap on Ebay without an amp. There are only 4 tubes in the radio so overhauling it is not bad unless there has been a short or something disastrous.

Question: do you have AM radio in Finland in the same frequency range we do in the US?

hardly any stations in the AM range here, only was able to find 1 or 2 but very bad reception very far away.

The brake booster mounting and pedal bracket should be riveted to the back of the booster - not possible to separate them without grinding the rivets off so not sure that booster (although original style) would be a good candidate for rebuild. If yours rattles that's probably the 4 rivet heads inside. Do not know how will you install new bolts into the booster and have them seal once the booster is rebuilt - Booster Dewy (Power Brake Booster Exchange) may have an answer.

As for the dual master cyl I do not believe one is available to fit the original booster face with 4 small studs - either dual drum or disc/drum style - I looked for quite a while with no luck for the disc/drum style. Only solution I am aware of is to have the booster face changed to the 2 stud style face by Power Brake Booster Exchange then find a 2 stud dual circuit master cyl. but again not sure you would want to use your booster for that modification without the pedal bracket. Dave (simplyconnected) has a new alternative using a new style booster that is as cheap as having your original rebuilt. It would be great to check with his supplier and see if a 73 Mustang dual drum master cyl could be used on their booster for those not changing to discs right away (I believe the new one is supplied with a disc/drum GM master cyl). The booster could be painted black and look fairly close to original.
