No, John, it was the inside of the ring AND the notched area that was showing a lot of wear. My mechanic, and me not knowing back then that they were available new, decided to weld it up, smooth it out and put it back on. Had I known then that you could buy a new one, I would have. I did not take mine apart either. I left that to a mechanic who knew what he was doing.
