Hello again all. I've been working on Mae, and she needs a radiator. Is there anywhere I can find a new one for her? I've been quoted about $700 to recore the old one, and I think I'd rather get a new one. I'l take any suggestions. I've been all over the web with no luck so far. Any suggestions???

Hey Jim,
Radiators, Larry's Thunderbirds and Mustang Parts (www.larrystbird.com) or Concours Parts and Accessories (www.concourseparts.com) Or they may be others listed under advertisements!

Radiator ...
$700 seems way high for a recore. I'd try another shop. If your not in a big hurry I have one from my 60' that has been cleaned, pressure tested, and painted (I put a larger alum. radiator in mine). $250 + shipping from 80487. I'm doing a thrash to get my car done for a two week road trip starting this coming Thursday, so I wouldn't be able to ship it until I return. Mike

$700 for a recore is way too high. I paid $270 plus sales tax in Indianapolis last spring for a recore and the radiator looked like new when they got it done. If I were you I'd do some more looking. A new Griffin aluminum radiator is around $500 I think.

Go Griffin and save some bucks. It is around $500

$700 ?????!!!!!!!!!!

I had a local rad shop (San Jose Radiator-been there for 40 yrs)
He put a 4 row core in there for $250 which included mounting the
reprod fan shroud. The lwr brkts on those are for a big Merc or Galaxie.
He drilled the holes in the lwr brkt. The 4 row is slightly wider. The
shroud is not a perfect fit. It's just cosmetic. As good as it works, I don't

Thanks again guys
OKay, so I can call Griffin and order one for $500, or look for a "reputable shop" who'll recore for less. I've actually gotten a couple of much better estimates lately. It looks like 300-350 for the recore. One guy says it doesn't need it, just sealing holes. Thank you again. I'll see what you have to say
about my solenoid...
