NYsquarebird58's Brake System Overhaul and Disc Brake Conversion
 
Iím gearing up to completely overhaul and upgrade the brakes on my í60. I have about 98% of the parts I need and if the weather permits, I can get started this weekend. Here some pics of the parts Iím using.

The picture shows drum brakes. I was just making a little joke! I did not see all the pictures below that.

I am also in the process of installing front disc brakes. I have a similar looking booster but the bolts to the MC are longer so I can use either a side bracket or one that goes underneath.
I have AC so I am using an original bendix bracket and adding a jeep extender bracket to get past the AC plenum. I am going to try something a little different with the hockey stick. I will post some pictures when I get it done. Right now I am waiting to get my car back from the garage, I have had the 390 and the C6 installed. Just a few more details before we start it for the first time.
Hope to have it back and be working on the brakes by next week.

X2 on Rays comments - the disc brakes sure tame the beast when it comes to stopping.

How are you connecting the booster to the pedal assembly?

That porp. valve looks identical to the one I bought from Master Power Brakes. I was told it is a combination valve and already has the 2lb residual valve built in. Might want to check on that. Master Power has changed their wording on the valve info though and it no longer says it includes the residual. I did not use a residual valve on mine and mine works great.

Eric, some master cylinders had a residual valve built in but I don't think any combination proportioning valves ever did. Marcelo's is only a ten pound valve, which isn't much. It only resists on the 'return' stroke...

Hey Marcelo, make sure you install with the free flow arrow pointed towards the rear. - Dave
