unusual A/C setup '60 Bird

check out this ebay car: 4620086654

It has an A/C compressor, but it doesn't have the A/C controls at the heater control panel nor the register above the radio.
What it DOES have is nozzles protruding from the rear package tray that I assume are the A/C registers.

Has anyone seen a set up like this before? Was it an after-market way of adding A/C?

It is aftermarket set-up. It is set up like the cars of the early fifties and before, where the passenger comfort was more important than the driver's, since people who could afford expensive options like A/C could afford chauffeurs.

I have seen it on a few Squarebirds.
