hi everybody,

I am from France and I own a 1959 Galaxie from Canada.
I'm trying to decode the plate of my car. I found information about the body on the forum but nothing about engine, trim and paint. Can anyone help me?

Hi Sterlay, so far, I have found this.

http://www.dearbornclassics.com/door...ate_57-59.html

I do not know what the 465AK is yet, but the 59 would be the year, 1959, I would imagine. The 547279 the Serial Number probably.

This site might help also.

There is someone on there that you can email to get a breakdown on your Data Plate info.

Ray,

His car was built in Canada. I believe Howard Prout has a 1958-59 Ford Body Parts book for Canadian built cars. The data plate info is different than US built cars.

Howard sent me a breakdown on a Canadian manufactured '59 Full Sized Ford Data Plate, and I found a lot more information that I will see if I can post here. Hopefully, this will help him a lot.

Hi Ian, great! Glad we could help. Thanks to one of our Canadian members, Howard Prout, we were able to dig that information up.
