    Taillight socket question

I recently changed all the bulbs in my taillights. I noticed one of the bulb sockets has the spring terminals “frozen” by rust. I managed to get the bulb in but ever since I have strange electrical issues that tend to happen when I hit the brakes. My question is: Is there any lubricant I can use to free up the spring terminals without damaging the switch or shorting anything out? Like graphite?

    Thanks as always!

I've used WD-40 to free the springs, then spray brake cleaner if you wish.

After that, Auto Zone has small packets of "Bulb Scocket Grease" it's non-conductive, so you can grease the entire bulb base and insert it into the socket to prevent rust.
