    Lake pipes

Installed one of my Lake Pipes I got for Christmas. I like it. They are fake lakes for now but I hope to soon have them installed

Also if you get a chance check out the movie “The Time Machine from 1960. It has Shirley Barris’ 1958 Thunderbird in it

How in the world are you gonna keep from yankin' those Lake Pipes off of there?

My stock bird scrapes over every speed bump. Maybe your "slightly" larger wheels and tires give you a bit more ground clearance.

    I likes em'

Love the lake pipes, I am planning on using baffled lake pipes for my primary exhaust. Speaking of you wheels, what size are they?

          A couple years ago,
I saw this on the road. Myself, not a fan. I don't see
          the point of fake exhaust.
Doesn't the song say "Purrs like a kitten til' the Lake
          Pipes Roar"?

For years my dad ran cherry bombs (glass packs) on mine.
They were long. He ran em under the front seats. After the
3rd or so time of tearing them off, he got smart and put the
shorty ones tucked in the back where the stk mufflers go.

I like the look, and if you install them properly, with the mount on the bottom the pipes are up and outside the rocker as opposed to below it.

My .02 though is to get rid of the long exhaust tips, or do like I saw on a guys bird and cut out half a round on the bumper and tuck them up.

Thanks guys. I’ve some more adjustments to get them how I want them and then I am having set up as workable exhaust. All of the hard work is finally starting to pay off about $3k more and it will be done. I’ve got glass packs behind the rear tires. I can’t wait to hear it through the lakes as well. It has a nice rumble now. Pulled it out of the garage yesterday and grab these shots of it.

My rims and tires are actually stock size. We came up with the combination of tires and rim that matched factory rims and tires. I believe it was 27 inches. I sure hope I don’t haha I’m going have to be really careful. I had to have a bagged flatbed to tow me last year. Wasn’t fun

Until this thread I've never had the opportunity to see the lake pipes on a Squarebird. They look very sharp !

The extra photo of the white Squarebird appears to have them tucked into the front wheel wells.

I do like the Lake Pipes on your car - hope we can hear them on Youtube or something.

I used to be more on the "original" side of the fence but I've been slowly drawn to the dark side - - things like "RustyNCa's" blower etc but it really depends on the car and how it's done.

You need front disc brakes though........

Thanks. I really like them and hope to have them set up soon as real pipes that I can cap and uncap.

Will wood disk break conversion is in the plan soon. I really struggled over choosing Cragar S/S rims over the new style that I chose instead. Willwood requires 17 inch rims so that ultimately was the reason I went with the 17s. Those big old drum brakes are a bear even if they are power. I once had a 1998 Lincoln LSC Mark VIII which was the last year for them. At 140mph I found out quickly that factory disc brakes weren’t sufficient enough to stop it in a hurry. I switched to Cobra drilled and slotted brakes and it made all of the difference in the world. No way I’m going to chance going fast with this locomotive haha.
