    Sunroof Junker on Ebay

    See:

which shows a very poor car located in Michigan. Lots of rust claim the motor does not turn over.

But . . . it may have the entire sunroof assembly.

    Seller did not provide VIN.

John I like the dealers note you are bidding on what you see in the pixs. You would need to sink a lot of $$$$ into that restoration even though 60 sunroof...

I was thinking more that it would provide some valuable parts for a member who wants a sunroof or has an incomplete one.

I suspect the body is so bad that the work needed would far exceed the potential value of the car.

We should send Simplyconnected on a scouting trip!

I noticed the dealer has a sign on the building referring to '58-'60 Thunderbirds. Their website indicates (at the bottom) they have a side business named Thunderbird Crazy specializing in Squarebird parts. "Possible Largest used Square-Bird parts Collection in the World!!"

        Anyone familiar with them?

I thought I knew all the Thunderbird dealers around and I've never heard of them. Maybe Carl Heller knows who they are.

This is the man who purchased all of T-Bird Ted's parts at the auction several years ago. He claims to be a Thunderbird dealer but this is the first indication I have seen of that. He does not return calls so often that I have stopped calling him.. I have never seen any indication that he is actually selling parts even tho he claims to be 'possibly the world's largest' Has anyone on this site ever had contact with him?

I found an email address on the web site. I sent an email to it for the heck of it, looking for some steering parts.

I'll post something should I get a response.

John, this T-bird place is just west of Flint. It's about an hour and a half ride for me.

Let me know when you want me to pay them a visit because for you, I would gladly make this road trip.

                  hi Dave

Just pulling your leg . . .have not forgotten that Michigan is about the size of New England.

The girls have been on a couple of DQ trips recently as it has been around 90 here.

                    Sunroof Junker on Ebay

I just spoke with Emm, at Thunderbird Crazy. I introduced myself and told her about our Forum. She said that she needed to put me in contact with Nick Stoddard, the owners son, but he was in a meeting. I left my name and number and asked that he call me. As soon as I get more details about their parts availability, I will let you know.

                      Sunroof Junker on Ebay

This afternoon, I received a phone call from Nick Stoddard, who runs Thunderbird Crazy. We had an enjoyable, lengthy conversation regarding the couple of Squarebirds they have for sale, a '59 and a '60, as I recall, plus that Golde Top on eBay. With his permission, I am going to list his contact information in our Advertisements Forum, as another source for Squarebirds and Squarebird parts only. Here is what I have put together after talking with him.

                      Nick Stoddard ~ Thunderbird Crazy ~ nick@stoddardclassiccars.com ~ Cell phone 989-798-7025 ~
                      http://www.stoddardclassiccars.com/ ~ Chesaning, Michigan

He bought a tractor/trailer and a half full of T-Bird Ted's Squarebird parts several years ago. He has a lot of 58-60 Squarebirds parts but none of them have been put into an inventory. He has divided them up into sections in his warehouse depending on what the parts are for. He has about 100-150 NOS parts in stock, of various kinds, including about a half dozen NOS rear trunk antenna's in the boxes. You would have to call him using this number above, his cell phone, or email him and tell him what you are looking for. He will have to go search and see if he has it in stock. Calling his cell phone is probably the best way to contact him.

I suspect that the problems anyone might have had in contacting him are because there is more than one company involved here. His Dad is the overall owner and has other business's. Nick wears several different hats, and one of them is running Thunderbird Crazy in between the other jobs he has. He is often in the field working other company projects, and usually checks his emails and phone calls as he can. He said if you contact him, allow some time for him to respond. If you have been calling the number on his website, you are getting the main office and he, apparently, is not getting your messages.

JohnG, I told him that you are trying to get in contact with him and to check his messages and please respond to you. He said he would see if he could find your information.

Regarding that 1960 Golde Top on sale on eBay by them. For someone who owns a Golde Top and is in need of parts for the sliding top, this might be a Tbird you may want to snatch up. It would give you parts for the Golde Top that are nearly impossible to find these days. That windbar across the front, when it can be found, goes for $500++ IF you can find one by itself. I know, because over the years, I have tried to help several Golde Top owners find one. Usually to no avail. So for the Golde Top parts itself, it might be worth snatching up. To restore it might not be feasible to do... Unless you have deep pockets....
