    Ignition switch cylinder

I just got a 62 Tbird. It is pretty rough. I can get the engine started when I jump the ignition circuit across the starter relay/solenoid but the ignition switch doesn't seem to work. I have been trying but can't seem to get the ignition cylinder taken out. Anyone have any hints for me? Thanks.

To remove the cylinder you insert a paperclip in the tiny hole on the cylinder and with the key in the ignition you turn to the left and it should pop right out. If this doesn't work it may be stuck and you have to remove the entire switch, this is done behind the dash -it's spring loaded and twists off but you have to press in towards the dash first. Let me know how it goes. JP
