I've seen that combo in a yellow HT a long tome ago. Even somewhat worn it looked really good. The tan w/red exterior must have been sharp.

Ken did the 60 convertible look like it was a recently done 60 including paint or was it an older restoration?? The reason I ask is I had a buddy of mine in Seattle that had one similar to what you are describing. It was stunning but he restored it about 6-7 years ago complete with bumpers and paint. I know he sold it and was wondering if it might be the same car.

I have been following a restoration on a 60 Convertible in Beachwood Brown and the said interior, its true the two tone tan leather is beautiful, the restoration was being carried out by Leo Valario in CA, AS some would know he has done some stunning squarebirds.
I have sadly not been around for a wile so i am pretty sure leo has finished this car but there is a carbon copy coming up for auction on the rm auction website, go sniff.

In a country who has not seen snow in 25 years and everyone cant cope, very frustrating when everyone who is incharge of snow operations here and has no experience. Lesson could be lernt from our European counterparts.
Hopefully will be taking my newly restored convertible to Switzerland this year, i hope to cover this with phtographic proof, should make for good reading.

That's what I was afraid of. My data plate said trim code 84, and my 1960 Thunderbird has red and white interior. Go figure, she's a nice solid car needs some work, but the guy I got her from lied to me about several things. When I purchased her I was dumb as a rock. Thanks to you guys and several books I have purchased, I am learning a whole lot. Anybody wanting one of these Birds needs to do some homework before purchase.
Is the beige and tan interior more rare or not?

Beige leather interior

The two toned beige leather interior was somewhat rare because it only came in cars with certain external colors. Like Tawney Beige, Beechwood Brown, and maybe a few others, like Casino Cream, maybe. Apparently, someone did not like the interior color on your car and redid it in the past.

My data plate has a code M for exterior color. M is not listed in my shop manual. She is now Corinthian white. I plan to totally restore her and only show her locally and drive her. My question is would I be better off to fix her back to the way she was produced or redo her to the way she is now.

This restoration looked very recent, better than new. More details, this was an AC car, spotlight, Continental Kit and Kelsey Wires with Wide WSW radial tires. The hood wasn't open, so I don't have any details there and the top was in the closed trunk. The owner was listed as a Pennsylvania resident.

Beige leather interior

External Color Code M is Corinthian White... I will attach a color code chart for the 1960 Tbirds under this. So now we know that Corinthian White was also one of the external colors that you could get the Trim Code 84 in. Here is a website that might be of good use to you. Automotive Mile Posts has information on the Tbirds and other makes of cars. This is the link to the '60 Tbird. On the left side you can check out things like the engine information on your '60, paint codes, interior trim, and more. I use it a lot.



If you want your Tbird to be original, then you are half way there. You will not have to change the external paint color since Color Code M is Corinthian White. She might need a new paint job, depending on how it is looking on her now. As for the interior, if you want to put her back in original condition, then you would have to have the dark beige and light beige leather interior installed. The web page above tells you which interior parts of the car was done in dark beige and which in light beige. Mainly, the seats were light beige. If you like the interior color scheme the way it is, and it is in very good condition, you can leave it as it is. It is your decision as to what you want to do with her.

That's what I was afraid of. All the interior is new, seat covers, carpet, headliner, dash cover etc... I wanted to replace all of it with leather anyway, I just did not want to change color. But I want to keep her original as possible. Thanks for all your help, I'm sure we will be talking again soon. THIS WEB SITE IS AWSOME AND YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Our Tami Tbird is M color with the 84 interior as described in this thread. If I had a hi-speed ISP connection I could post a photo of our car.
