    Restoration goes on.......

    Hallo community,

my restoration goes on. See the attached pictures of all the nice and blinky blinky parts I already got.

Yesterday i ordered more parts from T- Bird Nest.I can get many parts from german dealers and wholesalers, but they are extreme expensive, they charged me for an starter 425$.

The first set of parts for some hundred $ i ordered was from T -bird sanctuary. But i was not so much satisfied, they where very hard to reach by phone it took me at least 30 calls, e-mail contact was very much delayed or there was no reply and it took 6 weeks to deliver, with the result that some parts where missing.

Now i try t-bird nest, i could reach them with only one call and got a confirmation of my order in minutes.

By the reason what is Your favorite dealer for parts?

Wolfgang looks like you are well on your way with that many parts especially all the " bling " ( chrome ). I have dealt with TBird Nest for years and find them to be very helpful and with good inventory of parts in stock.

          Hi Wolfgang!

That is quite a collection of parts you have there! That is a nice looking intake! As for who is best to deal with, I think it becomes a matter of personal preference, after having dealt with a few of them and finding out who serves your needs better. It sounds like you are finding out on your own who has the best customer service, or lack of it. Like Dano, I have dealt a lot with Don and the guys at Bird Nest. They have been very helpful in providing parts and have a lot of parts available. They have parts cars they can pull things off of also. I see you have found what Dano and I have regarding the Bird Nest. They are easy to get in contact with, and easy to work with. Continued good luck with your restoration!

            Hi Wolfgang,

Great job on your car that you're doing!
You could be an European vendor now with all the parts you've collected.
(If you have the possibility to restore/upgrade her right at once, go for it....!)
Looking good and keep us posted.

I use Larry's T-Birds and specifically ask for Rod. I order by emial and my parts arrive in Australia 2 weeks later. Great service, and having 2 birds, they know my details pretty well

I can't wait to see the car once it's all together!

I haven't had the best luck with T-Bird parts houses other than Nicks T-Birds but he has closed his shop so now I order and pray!!

Nick decided to move to Steamboat Springs, Colorado if I remember correctly. He had had enough with flaky customers and even flakier employees that were costing him money to have to go back and re-fix something that they should have gotten right the first time.

Nick was one of the most knowledgeable people i knew about our cars so it was a great loss to see him leave the business. He wasn't the greatest business man but he was a great mechanic and really knew his stuff.

John, I live about twenty miles from Steamboat ...

Do you or anyone else here have contact info for Nick. I'd like to look him up when I get back in the spring. Mike

                        Some progress

                        Hallo to all of You,

                        may be someone is interested?

Here You can see some progress on my restoration efforts.

I got the totally overhold engine, and the overhold transmission back from yankee-motors.

All is looking very nice, but cost me my pocket money for the next 3 month.I think I should ask my wife for a raise.
