    '58 convertible barn find

Here are some pictures of my latest acquisition. A true barn find '58 convertible. This was found in central Florida and pretty much bought sight unseen. Despite the 30 years of dirt the body is in amazingly good condition with just some surface rust. The rockers, quarters, floors and trunk are all solid with just a bit of rust at the bottom of the dog legs. The turquoise and white seats look to have been reupholstered at some point and are in great shape. I haven't attempted to turn the motor over yet. I'm not sure if I will keep it yet as I'm still in the middle of my '59 conv't restoration and don't have the room. If anyone's looking for a '58 convertible shoot me a PM and I might just let it go.

    '58 convertible barn find

Hi John! What a great find! It does not look to be in to bad a condition. The '58 Convertible is probably one of the rarest of Squarebirds too! The '58 Convertible was delayed for various reasons until late in the production run and only 2,134 76A Convertibles were produced out of a TOTAL PRODUCTION 37,892
    63A - Hardtop 35,758 76A - Convertible 2,134*

Thanks for saving it from the crusher!

I wasn't going to buy it until the seller said the building was beginning to collapse and he needed to sell it right away. I don't like to buy cars sight unseen but for such a rare car it was worth the chance. It certainly is a lot better than I expected. It has lots of receipts for work done on it so it was taken care of at one time.
