There have been numerous posts here about front and rear springs for our TBirds. Here is another area where springs are a problem. The Trunk and Hood. How many Squarebirds have you seen with a stick holding up the hood or trunk? Ever had a small breeze blow and the hood come down on you? I searched and searched for a company that might have new springs and even sent all the specs to a spring company, only to have them come back and say they wouldn't make them.
Has anyone found a source or good solution to keeping our hoods and trunks open? I already changed the trunk hinges once and thought all was good until the body shop was done with the car and now the trunk barely stays up again.
I'm about ready to drill a hold through the hood hinges for a pin that will lock it in the up position. Anyone ever tried this?
